My Brompton Cross by Erik Torstensson – FRAME Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer

With the opening of their first UK store on Draycott Avenue, we caught up with Frame co-founder Erik Torstensson to find out why he thinks Brompton Cross is so special.

Please could you give me a little bio about yourself.
I am Erik Torstensson, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer at FRAME.
I was born in Sweden and moved to London in 1999 where I worked for creative design agency Wink.
I then founded Saturday Group, a leading fashion marketing agency; under my creative direction we serviced some of the world’s largest brands.
In 2012 FRAME was born and has become a global lifestyle brand; with 14 stores in the U.S and now our first in London, we are so excited to be in Brompton Cross!

What is your history with Brompton Cross?
Although I am now living in NYC, for many, many years I lived in South Kensington with my family. Brompton Cross is where I always wanted to open our first store, it is a destination and customer that I know well.

Why do you think Brompton Cross is special?
Brompton Cross is special because it has a neighbourhood charm and perfectly located between Chelsea and Knightsbridge. You are instantly surrounded by wonderful interior and fashion stores. You are close to beautiful parks, restaurants and galleries, all which channel London at its finest.

Where do you hangout or refuel at Brompton Cross?
Daylesford for seasonal food and coffee, then Daphne’s for lunch.

Where do you like to shop?
In Brompton Cross, outside of FRAME I love to shop in Joseph, The Conran Shop and Chanel for special gifts.

Any special tips for a newcomer?
Brompton Cross and the surrounding area is very walkable – take in the stores and treat yourself to the array of luxury and independent shops.

Have you a fond memory of the area you can share with us?
It would have to be my daily walk with my son when he was a newborn. Wandering around the area. It doesn’t get any better than that!
