Prince Arthur Opens a New Chapter at Brompton Cross

Brompton Cross has a new place to gather this autumn. Prince Arthur, the Belgravia pub that won a loyal following and a place in the Michelin Guide for its Basque inspired dining, has opened its new home at 96 Draycott Avenue, bringing a restaurant and late night music bar to the heart of the neighbourhood.

Set on a corner building across two floors, Prince Arthur Chelsea is an evolution rather than a move. The pub of Pimlico Road has become a restaurant and bar, keeping the Basque spirit that made its name while adding some exciting new elements. As founder Artur Voloshin puts it, the team is taking the concept of Prince Arthur and developing it further in a new location.

The ground floor restaurant seats 79 guests beneath floor to ceiling arched windows that span two walls and fill the room with light by day. At its centre, a bespoke fire mirrors the kitchen’s wood fired grill, making it one of the cosiest dining rooms to settle into as the evenings draw in. In warmer weather, up to 16 guests can dine al fresco on the corner terrace.

Leading the kitchen is Head Chef Adam Iglesias, who returns after guiding the Belgravia restaurant to Michelin Guide recognition two years running. His seasonal, ingredient led menu continues to cook over live fire using Basque techniques, with a particular focus on exceptional seafood. Guests can choose their fish directly from the counter, caviar is produced in house, and both meat and fish are dry aged on site.

Familiar favourites remain firmly on the menu, including sea urchins, txuleta, carabineros, whole turbot and lobster rice. The wine list leans towards hand picked Spanish and French producers, and the Guinness that Belgravia became known for is still poured through the same specialist system used in Irish pubs.

After dark at the Chelsea Music Bar

Upstairs, the Chelsea Music Bar offers somewhere to continue the evening. Inspired by Tokyo’s late night listening bars, it pairs a vinyl led music programme and live performances with a refined cocktail list, all in an intimate setting with a long bar and low level seating.

Open from Thursday to Saturday until 1am, it is a welcome addition to the area’s evening scene and a natural next stop after dinner downstairs.

With its warm dining room, serious approach to seafood and a bar made for lingering, Prince Arthur Chelsea brings a new kind of hospitality to Draycott Avenue and joins the restaurants, boutiques and design destinations that make Brompton Cross one of London’s most rewarding places to spend an evening.

The restaurant is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 5pm to 10pm, Thursday to Saturday from 12pm to 11pm, and Sunday from 12pm to 8pm. The Chelsea Music Bar is open Thursday to Saturday from 5pm to 1am.
