Summer on the Terrace: Volta do Mar Celebrates in Brompton Cross

On Draycott Avenue, Volta do Mar marked the launch of its new summer terrace with an evening that captured everything the Lusophone restaurant does best. Since arriving in Chelsea from Covent Garden, the restaurant has built a devoted following for a menu that traces Portugal’s historic trade routes, from Goan curry to Mozambican piri piri, all served beneath original artwork in one of the neighbourhood’s most distinctive dining rooms.

An Evening on the New Terrace

Guests gathered to celebrate the new outdoor space, with cocktails and canapés flowing alongside Volta do Mar’s signature Cocktail Ice Lollies, a playful nod to the kitchen’s flair for the unexpected. Live music kept the evening moving as the party spilled out onto the terrace, making the most of a warm Chelsea night.

It was a fitting way to mark the milestone for a restaurant that has quickly become a fixture on Draycott Avenue, drawing on the food, wine and warmth of the Portuguese-speaking world while staying rooted firmly in its Brompton Cross home.
