Meet Me In The Metaverse brings together six digital artists to reimagine design objects by the likes of Fritz Hansen and Pierre Paulin, as well as Conran Shop originals. Whether it be a lounge chair created in 1952, a modular sofa designed by a recent Young Design Talent awardee or the classic, humble coat stand, the collaboration sees The Conran Shop’s Autumn Winter collection brought to life in a creative new way in the digital realm.
The cohort of artistic talent has been curated by The Conran Shop in collaboration with It’s Nice That, an award-winning publication that exists to support and champion creativity. The six selected artists are: VR sculpting duo Yonk from The Hague; New Delhi-based visual artist and designer Khyati Trehan; Parisian 3D art director Laurent Allard; CGI and AR design duo Morbo; London-based visual artists Chris Golden and Christie Christie; and Brazilian graphic designer and art director Pedro Veneziano.
Lucy Bourton, Senior Editor at It’s Nice That, said:
“In collaboration with an incredible group of future-facing digital artists, we hope this installation showcases how virtual experiences can be grounds for playful experimentation. Inspired by The Conran Shop’s ability to curate iconic designs and future classics, we hope visitors will become inspired by the possibility of digital and physical worlds colliding.”
