My Brompton Cross by Melissa Odabash

To Celebrate International Women’s Day, we talked to three truly international women who have a very special history with the area. We start with Founder and Creative Director Melissa Odabash who has had a boutique on Walton Street since 2011. We asked her about her Brompton Cross.

What is your history with Brompton Cross?

From the day I moved to London from Rome, Walton Street has always been my favourite street in London  and I always said if one day I open my own store I want it to be on Walton Street.

Why do you think Brompton Cross is special?

It’s like a small community of the best shops, restaurants, it has everything from gyms to homeware, food and bikinis, the perfect fun day out with friends everything in walking distance.

Where do you hangout or refuel at Brompton Cross?

I have meetings or lunch in all the places in Brompton Cross, my favourites being KX Gym, Daylesford and Jak’s Cafe.

Where do you like to shop?

I love Joseph and Andrew Martin, I am always in there buying a chair or sofa for my stores.

Any special tips for a newcomer?

I would say go into all the cute boutiques on Walton Street you always discover something new, some great home accessories.

Have you a fond memory of the area you can share with us?

Well one of my first dates with my husband was at Joseph he took me there to go pants shopping, like meaning American pants shopping. I loved it and they still are the best fitting trousers.
