My Brompton Cross by Interior Design guru Martin Waller, founder of Andrew Martin.

For over 35 years the iconic Andrew Martin emporium on Walton Street has been filling our imagination with incredible Interior Design ideas.

If there’s one constant about the Andrew Martin showroom, it’s change. An ever-evolving canvas, the store’s recent revamp has made it more electrifying than ever before.

Approaching Andrew Martin’s showroom is like reeling towards the buzz of a nightclub – full of excited apprehension for the experiences that might unfold, the people that might dance unexpectedly into your life. And with recent visitors including members of the British royal family, Formula 1 racing drivers and film stars, they may be people you’ve heard of before.

We caught up with founder Martin Waller to tell us about his life in Brompton Cross.

Sub heading to go here

What is your history with Brompton Cross?
Andrew Martin has been in Walton St since 1987 . The units we took over were a shoe menders and a car repair garage – things have changed a bit. Soon after , The Sunday Times Magazine ran a front cover story on Brompton Cross as the next big thing.

Where do you hangout or refuel at Brompton Cross?
Jaks is my daily hangout – always super chilled in there. Good for discreet meetings or relaxed socials

Where do you like to shop?
Conran is still the go to destination at Christmas , Daylesfords is perennially classy and you can’t go wrong at Santa Maria Novella

Have you a fond memory of the area you can share with us?
My abiding memory of Walton St is the opening of Jo Malone’s first ever shop. ( We provided a couple of bits of furniture )
It was very small but almost immediately, there were queues snaking up the street.
