On Sloane Avenue, in the heart of the Brompton Design District, Bisazza’s London flagship brings seventy years of Italian colour to a corner of Brompton Cross long devoted to design. Founded in 1956 by Renato Bisazza in Alte, in the province of Vicenza, the company began as a small Northern Italian glassworks and grew into a world leader in glass mosaic for interior and exterior decoration, and one of the most recognisable names in luxury design.

The first tiles were tiny squares of coloured glass, produced under the name Vetricolor. From that single material Bisazza built a language of pattern and surface, cladding facades across Italy and France before moving, in the 1990s, into the interiors that made its reputation. The company took the Bisazza name in 1989, and in the decades since has turned mosaic into something closer to art, working with some of the most celebrated figures in architecture and design: Alessandro Mendini, Jaime Hayon, Marcel Wanders, Patricia Urquiola, India Mahdavi, Tom Dixon and Fornasetti among them.

Its collections have expanded well beyond glass. Alongside the original Mosaico range sit Bagno bathroom furnishings, Cementiles, Wood parquet, and the Marmo and Marmosaico marble lines, each carrying the same balance of industrial precision and handwork. Tesserae are still cut by hand in the Bisazza Atelier, following techniques that reach back to the earliest mosaic traditions.
