Each season, British fashion house POETRY draws inspiration from the world of art, translating painterly gestures, nuanced colour, and handcrafted expression into collections defined by quiet luxury and considered design. This summer, continuing its commitment to the dialogue between art and fashion, the third floor of its Walton Street store is transformed into an intimate gallery space for a curated exhibition of works by Isabelle Hayman.
Born in France and now based in London, Hayman studied printed textiles and fine art in Paris before building an international creative career spanning France, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, and Bangladesh, where her work extended into fair trade and artisan collaboration. Her paintings carry this rich visual history—bold, expressive, and instinctive—offering a striking contrast to POETRY’s understated aesthetic.
Founder and CEO Luke Dashper explains:
“Our designers are inspired by the work of artists. Often it is something as subtle as a brushstroke or use of colour that will influence a future POETRY design. Isabelle’s work is so different to the POETRY aesthetic—we love the contrast. We have one of her works on our By Appointment private styling floor which always receives positive comments from customers, so she was our first choice for our inaugural in-store exhibition.”
