Off The Record at Barts: Margarita Month Comes to Brompton Cross

Tucked away in the Chelsea cloisters of Brompton Cross, behind an unassuming doorway, Barts has long been one of the neighbourhood’s most intriguing secrets. Part theatre, part time capsule, this Prohibition-inspired speakeasy is known for its inventive cocktails and after-hours mystique.

From 22nd February to 22nd March, Barts invites guests to step Off The Record with a discreet Margarita menu created in celebration of Margarita Month. Inspired by the back rooms and hidden corners of 1920s speakeasies, the collection reimagines the classic cocktail with depth, intrigue and a touch of drama.

At the heart of the menu is The Quiet Deal — a silky yet spicy blend of Patrón Silver tequila, orange liqueur, aloe vera, agave, lime and chilli bitters. Smooth and layered, it delivers a gentle heat that lingers long after the first sip.
Equally compelling is Between The Lines, an earthy, fruit-forward creation featuring Ilegal Joven mezcal, gentian aperitif, caramelised pineapple and ginger shrub, balanced with fresh lime. Smoky and bright in equal measure, it captures the rebellious spirit of its speakeasy setting.

Hidden in plain sight in the Chelsea cloisters, Barts remains one of Brompton Cross’s most atmospheric destinations — the perfect spot to slip away for an evening and discover a Margarita worth keeping quiet about.
